What is One Call Now?

The Gouverneur Central School District uses the One Call Now Notification System to provide timely communication to parents and staff members regarding delays, cancellations and other important information.

One Call Now uses the contact information contained in our schooltool™ student management system. If you do not receive our notifications, or need to update your information, please call Phone Number (315) 287-1949 and leave a message in the One Call Now mailbox.


The district uses One Call Now for attendance calls. Any student who is marked absent for any reason will receive a phone call to their One Call Now contacts. Separate calls will go out for Elementary and Middle/High students. Attendance data is uploaded at 8:00 a.m. for Middle/High students and at 10:00 a.m. for Elementary students. Middle/High calls will start at 8:30 a.m. and Elementary calls will start at 10:30 a.m. Any attendance changes made between the data upload and call times will not be reflected. There will be no attendance calls on 2 hour delay days.


Q: How do I add additional contacts to my account?
A: Please use the Self-Update Portal to add contacts. To register, you will need to use the phone number that One Call Now is currently calling and/or the primary email address that is in schooltool™ for your student.

Q: If I update my information on the Self-Update Portal, does it also change it on schooltool™?
A: No. In order to update parent or guardian information on schooltool™, you would need to contact our registrar.

Q: How do I opt out of receiving a phone call?
A: While listening to a message on your phone, press * to remove your phone number. If you are receiving calls but are not connected to our district in any way, please call Phone Number (315) 287-1949 and leave a message in the One Call Now mailbox so we can fix that for you.

Q: How do I opt out of receiving a text?
A: Reply STOP to any OCN text message, or use the Self-Update portal to customize your account.

Accidentally Opt Out?

If you accidentally opt out of receiving notifications, you can email and please include your name, your student’s name(s) and the phone number you opted out from.
