First Student

GCS contracts First Student for its busing needs.

First Student is always looking for drivers and offers professional training and licensing programs. We have a team and family atmosphere and pride ourselves on our community involvement. We received an award for the 2007-2008 school year for no injuries, no accidents, and no sleeping children left behind! We were the only terminal in New York State to receive this award!

We do provide competitive pricing for charter work such as, but not limited to: weddings, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and birthdays.

Bus Accident Procedure

911 will be called. Emergency Services will send a Rescue Squad to all accidents. In the event no injuries are reported, the squad will respond non-emergency - no lights or sirens. The Transportation Supervisor and a nurse will also go to the scene of the accident. The nurse will contact the parents of children injured as soon as reasonably possible. Parents of students not injured will also be contacted as soon as reasonably possible to let them know their child has been involved in a bus accident, assessed by medical personnel, and cleared to return to school (if a.m.) or explain the delay home (if p.m.).
